Skills Equals Employer (SEE) Initiative

Fifty Mackay residents will soon be one step closer to sustainable employment with the help of a Queensland State Government grant. The Mackay Region School Industry Links Scheme has been awarded funding to run a Skills Equals Employment project.

This Skilling Queenslanders for Work project focusses on closing the skills gap for participants through accredited training and job search assistance.

  • The project aims to help those who can find themselves outside the labour market through no fault of their own – including mature age, Indigenous, multicultural and young people.
  • Participants will get assistance to determine their aims and abilities and personal employment plans will be developed.
  • Each participant is provided with personalised support from the Project Coordinator to understand and navigate the job market.
  • Participants also have the chance to do accredited training which will be provided by the Central Queensland Institute of TAFE
  • MRSILS works with a network of over 2,000 employers to help participants turn their new-found skills into jobs.

The Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative is part of the State Government’s $1 billion Queensland Skills Plan which aims to provide individuals and industry with the skills and workforce for the 21st Century. For further details please contact us here.
